The treetop walk through the ancient Tingle Trees in The Valley of the Giants, the crystal clear waters of Green pool and Peaceful Bay or any of the other amazing beaches in South WA, are all part of an area full of natural wonders and breathtaking beauty. Looking for a place to base yourself at and explore the region from can sometimes be the hardest choice, but look no further we have found the absolute perfect location.
Ayr Sailean located 15km East of The Valley of the Giants tree top walk is an AMAZING farm stay, offering picture perfect grassy campsites overlooking rolling fields, set amongst a backdrop of natural bushland and large granite boulders . To top this off they also offer cabin accommodation or for that little bit of luxury, spa chalets overlooking the beautiful brook below. The Wool House is also another accommodation option, the former farm house, and will allow you to feel at home in picture perfect country surrounds.
Rolling in to camp after dark we were greeted by the smiling face of the owner who offered such a warm and accommodating welcome, something that after a long days driving is so enjoyable to see. Setting up camp on one of the unpowered sites on the lower level we were quick to light our camp fire in one of the fire rings and enjoy the ambience and fresh air of this stunning farm stay. Waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh grass and the view of sheep grazing across the fields as the sun slowly rose and casts its warmth over our camp really is hard to beat. And to see the farm stay in daylight, we knew we had stumbled across something special.
The next few days we spent exploring the local area, The Ancient Tingle trees at the treetop walk, the Denmark Dinosaur World and Bird Park perfect for the kiddies, the natural beauty of Green Pool, Waterfall Beach and Elephant Rocks . We also took a day trip to Denmark and visited the local Denmark Farmhouse Cheese factory who makes the most AMAZING Gelato we have ever tasted!
Being joined by our good friends on this leg of our trip we decided to have a banquet dinner one night and as it was drizzling outside we set up our feast in the large kitchen area located at Ayr Sailean. We couldn’t get over the cleanliness, size and amount of utensils available in the kitchen. A table full of information brochures in the kitchen/meals area provides plenty of reading material and puzzles for the kiddies will also be sure to keep them entertained for hours.
The amenities are also just as exceptional, large and clean and very well maintained.
With room for all kinds of camping setups, powered, unpowered and bush camping sites, Ayr Sailean certainly ticks all the boxes for a wonderful holiday experience.
We wish we could have stayed longer, it is an absolutely magical place and we will certainly be back. We might even have to check out the spa chalets for a night or two!
If you are after that special getaway or a place to camp that offers you a chance to get away from it all and relax in a truely picturesque location but with all the amenities you need then Ayr Sailean offers exactly that.
Hats off to Ayr Sailean, you certainly provide a wonderful accommodation and camping experience in an outstanding location.
